Unknown to many, animals have fascinating ways of blending into their habitats to survive. From camouflaging in forests to adapting to life in deserts or oceans, animals utilize different strategies to help themselves thrive in their environment. Can you imagine how the bark moth above uses its natural coloring to blend seamlessly with trees? In the previous week, our 2nd graders were exhilarated as they dove into different habitats and uncover the mystery of the special features animals use to survive … through a project!

很多人都不知道：为了更好地生存，动物们会利用许多奇妙的方法来融入它们的栖息地。从在森林中伪装，到适应沙漠或海洋的生活，动物们运用不同的策略帮助自己在环境中茁壮成长。正如上面的例子，你能想象图中这只树皮蛾是如何将它本身的色彩与树木的颜色完美融合的吗？上一周，我们的二年级学生兴致勃勃地讨论了不同的栖息地，并通过一项学科活动……揭开了动物赖以生存的特殊技能的神秘面纱！

Creativity At Full Blast

想象力大爆发

The students culminated this unit’s learning adventure with a project which juiced up their excitement. The project brought to light their creativity as they cut and pasted pieces of paper to make animal mosaics. Their understanding of adaption was strengthened as they drew out the environment where animals blend in. In line with this educational masterpiece, they manifested their understanding of adaptation through individually explaining how it works for each animal, which then honed their speaking abilities. It was truly a fulfilling and productive day for our 2nd graders.

在充满乐趣的课题展示中，本单元的精彩旅程画上了一个圆满的句号。在课上，孩子们的创造力也充分被激发！我们的学生们剪贴旧杂志的碎片，制作动物马赛克拼贴画。与此同时，孩子们亲手绘制了动物与环境融为一体的场景，这也加强了对动物适应性的理解。配合这个充满教育意义的“杰作”，每个孩子还用自己的话解释了动物如何适应环境，进一步锻炼了他们的口语表达能力。对于二年级的孩子们来说，这真是充实又硕果累累的一天呀！

Inspiring Future Explorations

未来的小小探索家 

Just as animals adapt to their surroundings, our students have been well adapted to the classroom environment where their creativity and hard work shine through. As our 2nd graders continue to explore the world of animal habitats and adaptations, their enthusiasm and creativity have been growing over the courses. Through engaging lessons and hands-on projects, they have both expanded their vocabulary and deepened their understanding of the animal world. We hope that these interesting project experiences will inspire and encourage them to discover and learn about the natural world. 

正如动物能适应周围环境一样，我们的学生们也更好地融入了课堂，让自己的创造力和努力在课堂上大放异彩。随着我们二年级的孩子们继续探索动物栖息地和适应性的奥秘，孩子们对学习的热情和创意也与日俱增。通过有趣的课程和动手实践，孩子们不仅拓宽了词汇量，也加深了对动物世界的了解。我们希望这些课题展示带来的丰富体验，能够激励他们去不断地探索和了解自然世界。
