Learning is a beautiful journey, and by integrating nature into our lessons, we deepen our understanding and appreciation for the world around us. The sounds of birds, the lush green trees, and the vibrant blue sky invite us to explore the wonders of nature.

To kick off our lesson on nature, our second-graders explored evergreen trees, discovering that these trees stay green year-round. They learned about the characteristics of spruce, pine, and fir, including their needles, branches, trunks, and cones. Students also discussed how evergreen trees symbolize the spirit of giving, making them essential for holiday celebrations.

Story Time Magic魅力无穷的故事时间

In an engaging story session, the students were captivated by “The Littlest Tree,” a tale of a tiny tree longing for a home. With only five days until Christmas, its wish comes true when a family chooses it for their celebration. Students participated in a fun “Choral Reading,” bringing the story to life. They also labeled parts of an evergreen tree and expressed their creativity by drawing and decorating their own trees.

As part of our science exploration, our little chefs were eager to take their learning into the kitchen! They enthusiastically prepared “Christmas Tree Bread” using familiar ingredients like flour, sugar, and chocolate spread. The cooking process was divided into three exciting stages: Dough Making, Tree Shaping, and Baking. The kids showcased their creativity by shaping the dough into festive trees, which they adorned with colorful sprinkles. Every delicious bite was a delightful celebration of their hard work and teamwork!
