Plants and humans are more similar than you think.

植物与人类的相似之处远超你的想象。

You probably wouldn’t assume that plants share common traits with humans just by looking at them. After all, we’re not green! However, just like humans, plants enter different stages in their life that are accompanied with changes in their structure. From being a tiny seed, sprouting into a small seedling, before growing into a young plant and finally reaching full maturity, the cycle is a never-ending wheel of wonder! Meeting various environment conditions, partnered with our caring hands, gives a plant its best chance at experiencing those milestones. This opportunity knocked at our 3rd graders’ door as they planted the seed of knowledge and nurtured them through practice. 

仅凭外观，你可能不会认为植物与人类有共同特征。毕竟，我们可不是绿色的！然而，正如人类一样，植物也会经历不同的生命阶段，并伴随着形态结构的变化。从一颗微小的种子，发芽成为一株幼苗，再成长为幼小的植物，最终到达完全成熟的状态，这一循环是一个永无止境的奇妙之轮！植物只有在满足其生长的各种环境条件下，加上我们悉心的照料，才可能经历这些重要的成长阶段。而我们三年级的孩子们也是这样，当在他们心中播下知识的种子，并通过实践来培育它们，那成长的经历也就悄然而至。

All throughout the unit, the students had been continually watering the “knowledge” seed they planted. They utilized this knowledge to create wonderful plants on their own through a project. Their creativity stemmed out as they decorated the plants that blossomed from their imagination, which peaked when they presented their plants while displaying how well they know the stages a normal plant undergoes. 

在这一主题单元学习中，学生们不断浇灌他们播下的“知识”种子。在成果展示作品制作中，他们运用这些知识，独立创作出自己的专属植物。他们的创造力在装饰这些源自想象力的植物时，得到充分的展现。在展示自己专属的植物时，学生们对植物生长各个阶段的精确讲解，诠释了了他们的创造性思维。

Our students exhibited fantastic attention to detail in this hands-on activity. Everyone’s proud of the beautiful plants they have produced, and their enthusiasm for this task was exemplary. We believe that this whole learning experience will consequently help our 3rd graders instil in them the value of taking care of any plants around them to conserve biodiversity. We are all pleased to see our students growing in leaps and bounds while enjoying their learning!

在这次实践活动中，学生们展现了对细节的极大关注。他们积极热情参与其中，为自己“培育”出的美丽植物感到自豪。我们相信，本主题单元的学习经历将帮助三年级学生树立保护周围植物以及维护生物多样性的重要意识。我们非常高兴地看到学生们能够在享受学习的同时飞速成长！
