Learning can be fun and sweet at the same time. It’s a no-ordinary day for our first graders as they continue to soar high and discover new things in CSC class. Looking forward to experiencing and learning new things, they get excited each time as they know something interesting awaits to unfold.

学习是一件既有趣又令人愉悦的事。对于一年级的孩子们来说，在CSC课堂上持续探索发现新事物的过程就是令人愉悦的学习。正是期待着体验和学习新事物，孩子们每到CSC课程都会倍感兴奋，因为一些有趣的事情正在等待着他们来发现呢。

“Tt for Thinkable Words” Tt 是发散思维的单词

Phonics always finds its way to be a part of learning, too. The students first explored and had fun with words that start with the letter Tt. They were able to produce the sound of the letter and write its uppercase and lowercase. To add more to the list, body parts, animals and food that start with the letter Tt were integrated as they enjoyed the activities.  

自然发音是我们CSC课堂学习的一部分。首先，孩子们探索了以字母Tt开头的单词。除了单词，孩子们还掌握了哪些与字母Tt相关的内容呢？他们能够说出Tt的字母音和自然发音，以及写出Tt的大小写。为了丰富字母Tt有关的的学习内容，孩子们还讨论了更多关于Tt开头的英文单词，例如：身体部位、动物和食物等。老师们通过多样的教学活动，从而使孩子们更好地与字母Tt相关的内容产生连结。

“Tt for Tangible Discovery” Tt 是切实的发现

Digging into learning can be more fun with food. As the discussion went on, images of delicious food were served in their eyes. The children became more engaged as they were so eager to know about the special ingredient of the food that they’re going to make -- pumpkin. They realized that pumpkins grow and is common in the fall. Its growth starts from a tiny seed, turns into orange, and becomes round and big. Unknowingly, this led them to identify the different parts of the pumpkin. 

食物，让孩子们的英文学习变得更加丰富有趣。随着深入讨论，美味的食物映入了孩子们的眼帘。怀着对本次烹饪主角——南瓜的好奇，孩子们了解了与南瓜相关的知识，他们认识到南瓜在秋天生长，且是一种非常常见的食物。南瓜的生长从一个小小的种子开始，结出果实，并慢慢变成橘黄色，最后会变得又大又圆。不知不觉中，孩子们对南瓜的组成部分有了更多的认识。

The next exploration was the cooking day. Everybody could hardly contain their happiness as they already had a clue what was going to happen – the making of pumpkin pie. The students showed enthusiasm in crafting the perfect cold dough as the foundation for their delicious pies. Teamwork was very evident as the students carefully followed the steps in creaming the butter to have a delicious pumpkin pie filling all the way to the oven.

随着对南瓜的探索，我们来到了本次主题学习的实操日。孩子们快乐的心情溢于言表，因为他们将要制作美味的食物－南瓜派。孩子们满怀信心想要让南瓜派更加美味，也是首次尝试制作了冷面团。团队合作在本次课程中更是随处可见，孩子们跟随老师的制作步骤，乳化黄油，添加食材，搅拌出美味的南瓜馅料，齐心协力将一个个南瓜派送入了烤箱。

Students were happy to know that they successfully executed the different steps in making a pumpkin pie. At last, the spirit of giving is felt and seen in the innocent faces of first graders as they are so grateful to savor and share their pumpkin pie made from scratch. Truly, it is enjoyable to eat the fruit of labor. Until our next cooking class, see you in our kitchen!
