Young Chefs’ Sweetest Bites 小厨师们甜蜜的一餐
Kitchen Fun. 厨房里的乐趣
Welcome to CSC class, where every kitchen experience tells a fun and exciting story. In every class, we try to add creative ideas to make our young students engaged and motivated. No wonder, they all swarm to the kitchen every “Cooking Day."
欢迎再次来到CSC教室,在这里的每一次烹饪都讲述着一个有趣而激动人心的故事。而在每个主题的CSC课堂上,老师们创造各种可能让孩子们充满动力,参与到课堂中。难怪,每次cooking day,孩子们都会蜂拥而至。
看,孩子们在大声表达对CSC的喜爱!
Interactive Learning. 互动学习
Before the heightened excitement, the children learned new words associated with pictures. Telling and sharing stories to learn new words are fun ways to discover vocabulary words. Thus, they were all ears and eyes when the teacher told the story “The Elf on the Shelf.” It’s a story written by Carol V. Aebersold about an elf whose job is to keep an eye on children for Santa. During the storytelling, they were taken to another imaginary world of fantasies and make-believe stories. The children interacted on a different level as they asked and answered questions about the story.

Kitchen Tools Recap. 厨具概述
They felt what it was like to be young chefs again as they got to see and even touch some of the kitchen tools they used for the cooking activities. They were asked to identify the tools and their uses. The teacher led them to practice saying them aloud in meaningful phrases and sentences. For instance, teachers asked, "It’s a whisk. What is it for?" Students followed through by saying, "It’s used to beat eggs."
当孩子们再次看到并使用到一些厨具时,他们再次享受了成为小厨师的感觉。当他们被问及这些是什么厨具及怎么使用的时候,老师引导他们尝试用完整的短语和句子来表达。例如,老师问:“这是一个搅拌器。它是干什么的?”学生们能立刻说出:“它是用来打鸡蛋的。”
孩子们自信地描述和演示如何正确使用厨具
Cooking Skills. 烹饪技巧
As a refresher, the teacher demonstrated some cooking verbs while some students acted them out in front of the class. The students tried to guess what the verbs were. They excellently recalled the verbs sift, pour, whisk, and frost. After that, students were taken closer to the cooking session; they had a sight of the ingredients like flour, eggs, sugar, lemon, and baking soda.
作为复习,老师先示范了一些烹饪动作,让一些孩子进行演示,其他孩子则尝试着猜测是什么动词,他们很快地说出:sift、pour、whisk和frost。然后孩子们又来到操作台,观察了面粉、鸡蛋、糖、柠檬小苏打等配料。

经过一个学期的操作
孩子们已经能够独立、自主地进行每一步烹饪步骤
掌握了一定的烹饪技巧
Busy Hands. 忙碌的小手
Did you know that cooking is one of the best ways to establish children’s psychomotor and sensory skills? Using the tools, touching the ingredients, getting busy preparing their food, and washing their hands afterward are worthwhile engagements in class. Their hands were full and committed to finishing their tasks.
你知道烹饪是培养儿童心理运动和感官技能的最佳方式之一吗?在CSC课堂上,孩子们使用厨具,触摸食材,烹饪食物……虽然他们忙得不可开交,但是他们认真完成烹饪。

Astonishing Experience. 欣喜若狂的体验
Faces don’t lie. Our CSC class has brought a whole lot of wonderful cooking experiences that gave them sweet bites as they made delicious cupcakes. It’s a no-ordinary recipe as they also had the chance to decorate and design their creations by putting a touch of winter season ideas on top of it. The eating time made it the sweetest as they all ate their self-made treat- "The Winter Christmas Cupcake."

Resounding "No!" 回答“不!”
When asked, “Do you want to stop cooking? They all answered in unison,” NO!” Certainly, they see themselves again in the kitchen, learning and cooking more recipes next semester!
本学期在这愉悦的氛围中接近了尾声,当被问到“你们想结束烹饪课程吗?”孩子们异口同声地回答:“不!”当然,下学期孩子们还会再次来到CSC教室,学习和烹饪更多的美食哦!
