Igniting the skills of our young minds in the web of learning is one of the goals that we hope to achieve. For this reason, our teachers never cease to find ways to help our students learn beyond the four corners of our classrooms. Let’s take a glimpse of how we carry through the process of learning.

Up-Close with Spiders 近距离观察蜘蛛

Things that are tiny and spooky aren’t truly amazing creatures. However, we altered this misconception by allowing our students to learn and understand creatures such as spiders. They were all keen on discovering amazing facts about it. From body parts to sizes, colors, and places where these tiny creatures are found, our students have become more aware of how amazing they are. They were all excited about these new discoveries and in fact, our students weren’t scared at all!

在孩子们的印象中，微小而令人毛骨悚然的生物会令人感到害怕。因此，我们通过让大家学习和认识蜘蛛来改变这种认识。从蜘蛛的身体部位到大小、颜色，以及能够被我们看见的地方，孩子们都努力探索着。在探究的过程中，大家很兴奋能够发现这些科普知识。蜘蛛，我们一点也不怕啦！

Imagination Knows No Limit 想象力无限

Stories are fun, but they don’t have to remain just pages in the books - they can go as far as the kitchen. Yes, you heard it right! Our CSC class has delved more into the world of spiders, where they learned a new story entitled “The Itsy-Bitsy Spider.” Iza Trapani wrote an interesting story about a spider’s adventures and encounters. The illustrations were highlighted with vibrant colors that truly captivated students’ imagination. Through this story, we want to make the students learn the value of perseverance. To never give up, no matter how tough things may seem. At the end of the story, we challenged our students with simple tasks such as making spider webs, hunting for spiders and making crafts using colorful clay.

绘本故事对于孩子们来说是有趣的，但它们不仅停留在书上——它们可以扩展到我们的CSC教室。没错，老师带领孩子们在CSC课堂中更深入地探索蜘蛛的世界，并一起分享了一个新的绘本故事《The Itsy-Bitsy Spider》。作者Iza Trapani在绘本中讲述了一个有关毅力与坚持的经典故事。故事中一只顽强的小蜘蛛，无论遇到多大的困难，永不放弃，努力地爬上排水口，最后历经艰险在最高处织了一张完美的网。绘本中鲜艳的插图色彩吸引了学生们，并激发了他们的想象力。听完故事后，学生们尝试了一些简单的任务，比如编织蜘蛛网，寻找蜘蛛，以及用彩色粘土制作蜘蛛工艺品，希望孩子们能够带着蜘蛛一样坚持不懈和不轻言放弃的精神完成这些任务。

Spooky Spider on Web Toast 面包上的蜘蛛

Our young learners were unstoppable. They continued to deepen their appreciation of spiders as they leveled up and became young chefs on our cooking day. They turned the story into a delicious, mouth-watering food. They were introduced to the new ingredients and cooking tools for this recipe. Students were able to practice new cooking skills such as slicing and squeezing. As the cooking kicked off, everyone was so engaged and active in using their little hands in the kitchen. They were busy, but it was worth it because the expressions on their faces spoke volumes of happiness for their achievement. Indeed, students truly enjoyed making and sharing what they prepared with the others. Once more, our kindergarteners' hearts, minds and tummy were content. 

孩子们带着在enrichment day对蜘蛛的学习和认知，在cooking day化身为小厨师，把故事中的“The Itsy-Bitsy Spider”变成了美味食物的主角。首先，他们认识了关于这个主题即将使用的食材和烹饪工具；接着，他们开始尝试用这些烹饪工具解锁新的烹饪技能，例如：切橄榄和挤番茄酱等；最后，他们制作出非常受欢迎和美味的“Spooky Spider Web on Toast”。
