This year’s enrichment activity is packed with interactive, creative, fun and educational experiences. The water element and the world beneath the ocean’s surface offer a realm full of mystery and adventure, inspiring curiosity and discovery. Our young explorers immersed themselves in the world of stories, letters, and imaginative play, all inspired by the enchanting creatures that live beneath the deep blue ocean.

Our little adventurers were teeming with excitement and an insatiable thirst for learning about the ocean. Before the main activity, students donned vests and snorkel masks, transforming into deep-sea divers swimming from one station to another. The class began with the teacher introducing ocean-related vocabulary, such as dive, mermaid, waves, and crab, leading to a lively discussion and encouraging students to share their thoughts about the underwater world.

小冒险家们对海洋知识充满热情，眼中闪烁着求知的渴望。活动正式开始前，孩子们兴奋地穿上救生衣、戴好潜水面罩，摇身变成小小潜水员，在各个学习站点间快乐穿梭。课程活动一开始，老师生动地讲解了"潜水"、"美人鱼"、"海浪"、"螃蟹"等海洋主题词汇，随后引导孩子们展开热烈讨论，鼓励他们尽情分享对神秘海底世界的奇思妙想。

The exploration continued with the introduction of four macro learning stations: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Our little divers jumped like starfish, tiptoed like crabs, jiggled like jellyfish, and dove like dolphins in this dynamic listening activity that combined movement, vocabulary, and technology. The activity began with an introduction to animal vocabulary: starfish, crab, jellyfish, and dolphin. It wasn’t just a lecture — students learned each word through action - based commands. In pairs, students selected action cards, recorded commands, and then swapped recordings to perform and identify the actions.

小潜水员们在活动中玩得不亦乐乎：一会儿像海星一样蹦蹦跳跳，一会儿学螃蟹横着走路，一会儿模仿水母轻轻颤动，一会儿又变身海豚快速俯冲。这个创新的听力游戏巧妙结合了肢体运动、单词学习和多媒体技术。活动从"海星、螃蟹、水母、海豚"等海洋生物词汇开始，打破了传统教学模式。孩子们通过“听指令做动作”来学习和巩固单词：两人一组互相配合，先选择动作卡片录制指令，然后交换录音，根据听到的指令做出相应动作，并猜出对应的单词。

Our little dolphin squad participated in an engaging choral reading activity, blending literacy with theatrical fun! Our sea scouts formed pod squads, wore dolphin headdresses, and received poem cards filled with aquatic-themed verses. Under the teacher’s guidance, they practiced expressive reading, focusing on timing, pacing, and intonation. Each squad performed together, creating a lively, surround-sound poetry experience that sparked enthusiasm and confidence.  

口语站变身为"小海豚战队"的舞台！孩子们头戴可爱的海豚头饰，手拿精美的海洋主题诗卡，在老师指导下练习富有表现力的朗诵，重点把握节奏、语速与语调。当各支“战队”轮番登场，教室里顿时回荡起此起彼伏的童声朗诵，宛如一场美妙的海浪交响乐。这充满创意的活动，不仅让孩子们爱上了诗歌朗诵，更让他们在欢声笑语中收获了满满的自信！

Reading Station: Missy the Mermaid阅读站：美人鱼米西

A Tale of Literacy Success读写成长的故事

Our budding readers embarked on a magical underwater literary journey with Missy the Mermaid. This station showcased the importance of independent reading and comprehension. Each student received a vibrant booklet that captured their attention immediately.  The teacher modeled expressive reading aloud, while students followed along, practicing fluency and comprehension. They then completed comprehension worksheets and responded creatively using pencils and crayons, deepening their grasp of the story.

孩子们跟随美人鱼米西的指引，开启了一段奇妙的海底阅读之旅。这个阅读站以培养独立阅读能力为核心。每个孩子都收到了一本色彩鲜艳、引人入胜的故事书。老师声情并茂地朗读示范，孩子们专注跟读，练习流利朗读和理解故事。随后，孩子们通过趣味小练习和创意绘画环节，加深了对故事的掌握。

Writing Station: Discover the Hidden Treasure写作站：海底寻宝记

Uncovering Oceanic Words and Creativity海洋词汇探索与创意启航

Our little explorers advanced to the next level to uncover “hidden treasures” at the writing station, where word recognition, spelling practice, and creative expression came together. The teacher presented ocean-related keywords using the Say-Spell-Say drill to reinforce spelling. Each explorer received a worksheet to uncover hidden ocean terms in a word search. They also completed word searches, colored the initial sounds of the words, and identified pictures, making learning both fun and meaningful.   

小探险家们在写作站展开"海底寻宝"活动，通过单词认读、拼写练习和创意表达相结合的方式学习。老师运用"听说-拼写-复述"三步教学法，帮助孩子们掌握海洋主题词汇。每位小探险家都拿到一张趣味练习单：先在字谜游戏中找出隐藏的海洋单词，接着为单词的首字母涂色，最后完成图文配对。这样寓教于乐的活动，让孩子们在快乐中收获知识。

This theme-based lesson made learning engaging and meaningful by linking ocean exploration with real-world applications. Hands-on activities helped students develop their skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening, while fostering curiosity and environmental awareness.

本次海洋主题课程巧妙地将知识探索与实际生活相结合，让学习过程既生动有趣又富有深意。通过丰富的实践活动，孩子们不仅锻炼了听、说、读、写等核心能力，更在潜移默化中增强了环保意识。

In line with our school’s commitment to sustainability and the SDGs, many materials and costumes used during this activity were upcycled—crafted from old and recycled items, enhanced and decorated by the teachers. This initiative aimed not only to teach the lessons but also to cultivate students’ curiosity and interest.

在本次活动中，我们充分践行学校可持续发展与SDGs理念，老师们精心利用回收材料制作了大部分教具和服装。这一充满创意的做法，不仅完美契合教学需求，更在潜移默化中培养了孩子们的环保理念。

From vocabulary treasure hunts to choral waves of poetry, our young marine explorers demonstrated that the ocean offers some of the richest learning experiences. As the saying goes:“Every child is a diver—we just give them the oxygen of curiosity.”
