Before outgoing seniors graduate, St. Bede has several events to help them commemorate their time at the school. One of the oldest traditions is a Senior Farewell. Taking place on their last day of school before Senior Final Exams, this is a chance for the rest of the school to recognize the graduates and how much their being a part of the St. Bede community has meant over the last four years. 

在十二年级学生毕业之前，圣彼得组织了一些活动来帮助他们纪念在学校的时光。其中一项传统是毕业生告别日。这项活动定在12年级期末考试前的在校最后一天，是一个让学校的其他人认识毕业生的机会，认可他们在高中生涯所付出的努力，以及了解他们在过去四年中成为圣彼得社区一份子的意义。

On this day, Seniors are invited to diverge from the regular dress code and instead dress formally to show off their own personal styles. In class, many teachers host fun activities and use the time to share well wishes. The school day also follows an alternate schedule to accommodate an hour-long assembly to honor the seniors. 

在这一天，毕业生可不同于以往的着装要求，透过正式的穿着来展现个人风格。在课堂上，许多老师会组织有趣的活动，利用这段时间送上美好的祝福。学校的一日安排也会做出变化，空出一个小时的时间来，与毕业生一同庆祝。

As the Grade 12 students enter the assembly, they are greeted by the only other people from outside of the school in attendance: members of the St. Bede graduating class of 1974, celebrating their 50th anniversary of graduation. Two members of this class- one man and one woman- are the first to speak. Both tell their own personal stories about their time at St. Bede and how much the “Spirit of St. Bede” has continued to influence their lives over the last half-century.

当12年级的学生们进入会场时，圣彼得1974届毕业的校友已在等待，热烈欢迎本届毕业生的到来。这些1974届毕业的校友重返母校，为了庆祝毕业50周年。两位校友首先发言，分享了自己多年前在圣彼得的故事，以及“圣彼得精神”在过去的漫长岁月中如何不断地影响着他们的生活。

Those speeches are followed by a speech from the Class President and Salutatorian on behalf of their fellow graduates. The St. Bede Chorus performs a couple special songs to honor their elder classmates as well. One last special event this year during the assembly is a raffle “giveaway” for Grade 12 students. The top winners receive specially made blankets made with photo collages, and several others receive shirts and other memorabilia.

The assembly ends with the Grade 12 students exiting first and lining up on the sidewalk for a final farewell. Immediately following them, teachers exit and make their way down the line. This gives students and teachers a chance to say thank you and express how much they have meant to each other. The teachers are then followed by Grade 11, then Grade 10, and finally Grade 9 students. 

大会结束后，12年级的学生首先离场，并排队等待最后的告别。紧随其后的是老师们，他们沿着毕业生的队伍，轮流与每位毕业生交谈。他们相互拥抱，彼此表达感谢。最后低年级的学生们也陆续做了告别。

As the underclassmen watch these students moving on to the next phase of their lives, they are humbled to understand that they, too, will be taking the next step in their educational careers moving forward.

当低年级学生看着这些毕业生走向人生的下个阶段时，他们意识到自己也在学习生涯和人生中不断前行，迈向下一步。即便迈出步伐是需要具备强大的勇气和意志，即使在人生旅途当中会面临许多挑战，圣彼得衷心希望他们能成为学生最坚实的后盾与靠山。
