In the United States, Prom is one of the most eagerly anticipated high school activities. It is revered as most students’ first preview of a mature, adult experience in a formal event. Just like most other American schools, St. Bede offers tickets only to upperclassmen (Grade 11 and 12) and their dates. Students often plan for months or even years in advance of this upscale event. For many, it is their first preview into experiencing a dressed-up evening of mature entertainment. 

在美国，高中毕业舞会（Prom）是最受期待的活动之一。毕业舞会象征着学生首次体验正式活动并面向成熟的起点。与大多数其他学校一样，圣彼得的毕业舞会仅向11年级和12年级的学生开放。学生们通常会提前数月甚至数年计划这一正式活动。对许多人来说，这也是他们初次体验盛装打扮的正式晚会。

With a formal dress code, gentlemen wear multi-piece suits or tuxedos and ladies wear dresses or ball gowns. Many students choose to coordinate colors or styles to match with their dates or friend-groups. Before leaving for Prom, it is customary for students to gather with their families and friends to take photos together. 

根据着装要求，男士们穿着西装和燕尾服，女士们则穿着长裙或舞会礼服。许多学生会选择与他们的舞伴或朋友群体搭配颜色或风格。在前往毕业舞会之前，拍照留念当然也必不可少。

St. Bede’s Prom this year is meant to make memories the students will never forget. The 4-hour event begins with a meet-and-greet to welcome everybody who arrives. There are tables set up with appetizers and snacks, and attendees can also use this time to take photographs together. They then choose their seats for dinner, which is followed by more than two hours of dancing. 

今年圣彼得学校毕业舞会旨在营造一个欢快氛围，让学生们留下难忘的回忆。这个为时四小时的活动以欢迎会开始，迎接所有参与者。会场内设置了提供前菜和零食的区域，大家可以利用舞会开始前这段时间一起拍照。之后，学生们选择自己的座位享用晚餐，接着是长达两个多小时的舞会。学生们在欢声笑语中度过了美好的时光。

The evening ends with a St. Bede tradition of all the Grade 12 students circling up and dancing together to a song called “Closing Time” which is about keeping the memories of the past and embracing the future.

晚会在圣彼得的传统中结束，所有12年级的学生围成一圈，随着歌曲一同起舞，这首歌表达了珍惜过去和迎接未来的正向精神。

After spending several years in school together at St. Bede, prom is the perfect way for students to celebrate their passage into their adult lives. Even though many of them will soon be leaving the school and each other, they are able to make memories together as part of the St. Bede family. 

在圣彼得学校共同度过数年后，毕业舞会成为毕业生们庆祝步入未来生活的完美方式。尽管许多人即将离开学校和彼此，他们依然能够作为圣彼得大家庭的一部分，共同创造珍贵的回忆。
