G1 Exploration | Language Learning Chronicle 一年级:语言学习记实

Progress Overview 进度概况

As the new semester began in the blossoming and lively month of February, we continued our learning journey. Up to this point, the Friends series courses have completed two units: Unit 5-Prepositions and Unit 6-Possessives. Our students’ love for language and curiosity for learning continues through vocabulary building, listening, speaking, reading and writing skills enhancement. Like sprouting grass breaking through the soil, students continuously strive to learn. 


春暖花开,生机盎然。我们在二月份开启了新学期的英文学习之旅。截至目前,Friends系列课程已完成了两个单元的学习:第五单元-介词和第六单元-所有格。通过词汇积累、听力、口语、阅读和写作技能的不断提升,孩子们对语言的热爱和对学习的好奇心愈加浓烈。像破土而出的嫩草不断汲取阳光一样,孩子们也在马不停蹄地学习新知识,增强新本领。


Language Processing Skills语言技能

After learning the first two units this semester, how do we tell if the students have thoroughly understood the content they learned? Don't worry, we designed fun teaching activities in our Skills Check. This Skills Check assesses two fundamental language abilities: Listening and Speaking. Engaging in listening exercises helps students enhance their auditory processing skills. In this assessment, students need to listen to the teacher's sentences and then place objects in the correct positions as described. Not only does this listening activity help students review the use of prepositions, but they also learn to focus their attention, follow instructions, and process important information from spoken content. 在学习完前两个单元后,我们如何判断孩子们是否能够对所学的内容融会贯通呢?别担心,老师们设计了有趣的学科活动哦!这次的学科活动考察到了两项基本语言能力:听力和口语。听力方面的练习能够提高孩子们听力的敏锐度。在这项评估中,他们需要认真听老师的句子,然后根据描述将物体放置在正确的位置。这种听力活动不仅能够帮助孩子们复习介词的用法,还能让他们学会集中注意力、听从指令和处理口语表述中的重要信息。看,孩子们在操作时显得多么自信!

Speaking Skills Check, on the other hand, helps students develop their oral language skills. Indeed, in this activity, they actively did the question-and-answer using “Whose…?” with Possessive based on the pictures given. When answering those questions, they learned to articulate words and sentences, practiced correct pronunciation, and expanded their vocabulary through active engagement in spoken communication.


另外,口语方面的学科活动则有益于提高孩子们的口语表达能力。确切来说,在这项活动中,孩子们积极地根据所给图片,用所有格回答“Whose…?”相关问题。当回答这些问题时,他们学会了用所学单词和句子来表述,练习了正确的发音,并通过积极参与口语交流来扩展词汇量。


Assessment Progress评估的作用

The Skills Check activity not only showcases the individual learning achievements of the students but also provides necessary data for the teachers by helping them assess their progress over time. Understanding each student's strengths and areas for improvement helps teachers tailor their instruction to meet individual learning needs effectively.


学科活动不仅展现了孩子们的个人学习成果,也为老师们评估他们在这一段时间内所取得的进步提供了必要的数据分析。了解每个孩子的优势和需要改进的方面有助于教师因材施教,从而有效满足不同个体的学习需求。
