International students couldn’t be home to celebrate the Chinese New Year with their families, so they celebrated in a few different ways at St. Bede.

在2月时，随着农历新年的临近，在圣彼得学院的学生中弥漫着一种强烈的兴奋和期待。对许多人来说，这是与家人团聚、沉浸在节日传统中的时刻，对于不能与家人一起度过这个重要节日的国际学生来说，远离家乡的前景中也带着许多思念。然而，一种友爱的精神却盛行于学生和老师之间，他们聚在一起，在圣彼得学院创造了自己难忘的农历新年庆祝活动。

In school, several teachers participated by covering their doors and classrooms with red decorations. Many of the teachers even incorporated facts about how different countries celebrate into their lessons. Ms. Olivero-Gong and Ms. Wiltse also helped to host a New Year Celebration in their classrooms throughout the day on Friday, February 10. Together, they are St. Bede Academy’s English as a Second Language Program instructors, which means they have every international student for at least their first year at St. Bede. Plus, they have several of the international students for “Study Skills” class, which helps them transition to learning in an American academic environment. They put a special emphasis on integrating multiple cultures in their classes, which leads all students to learn so much about each other and the world around them. All international students were invited to participate during their classes with those teachers, and several of them also joined during Lunch and Study Hall periods as well.

For the first time, Kinglee students even organized a celebration in the dorm building on the actual Lunar New Year holiday. Not only did they want to share how China celebrates the holiday with other boarding students from other countries, but they also invited some American students to join the party too! They all ate a meal together- of course with dumplings and many other dishes prepared by the students themselves. It was incredible to see so many students embrace the sharing of their culture, especially because they had such a great time doing it. 

勤礼学生甚至多年来首次在宿舍楼举办了一场庆祝活动。他们与来自其他国家的寄宿学生分享中国如何庆祝这个节日，而且还邀请了一些美国学生加入派对！他们一起享用饺子和许多自己准备的菜肴。

学生们都非常愿意分享他们的文化，并且享受其中。在圣彼得学院，国际学生们在庆祝农历新年时展现了友爱和团结，尽管远离家乡，他们仍然用自己的方式创造了美好的节日氛围，让每个人都感受到了温暖。
