St. Bede wants its students to have a variety of experiences outside of the classroom. That is why the school offers such a wide range of sports, clubs, and activities that students can be involved in. Springtime is an especially active season, with the weather warming up and the school calendar including a week off for Spring Break.

圣彼得始终致力于为学生创造课堂之外的多元体验，因此，学校提供了丰富多彩的体育运动、社团及活动，供学生自主选择与参与。春季，万物复苏，生机盎然，学校也迎来了令人期盼的春假。

Even though Girls Basketball is primarily a Winter Sport, this year’s Varsity team played into the Springtime because they did so well in the Illinois State playoffs. Playing in a division with schools similar in size to St. Bede, the “Lady Bruins” team won the first two rounds of the tournament, making it all the way to the Final Four teams in the state. The final round games were played at Illinois State University, and St. Bede even gave students and staff the day off of school to take the one-hour drive to root for the team! While they didn’t win, taking 4th place in the tournament was still a fantastic result.

尽管女子篮球队主要以冬季赛事为主，但今年因在伊利诺伊州州际比赛中表现卓越，其赛事延续至了春季。在与圣彼得规模相当的对手较量中，圣彼得女子篮球队前两轮均取得了胜利，成功跻身伊利诺伊州四强。决赛在伊利诺伊州立大学举行，圣彼得更是特地为师生放了一天假，驱车一小时前往助威。尽管最终未能夺冠，但荣获第四名的佳绩依然彰显了实力与风采。

Spring Break provided the opportunity for a couple different trips. For the Boys Baseball team, they traveled about 7 hours south to Memphis, Tennessee. There, they began their season by playing in a tournament, but they also got to take advantage of the time to do sightseeing and visiting some important historical landmarks. 

春假期间，学校精心组织了多次旅行活动。圣彼得男子棒球队南行七小时，抵达田纳西州的孟菲斯，开启了新赛季的征程。他们在那里参加了一场激烈的比赛，同时也有机会游览当地的历史名胜，拓宽了视野。

Another amazing trip was for Grade 12 Spanish students- they spent a week in Panama! This trip allowed students to practice their language skills while also immersing themselves in the culture. They got to visit small villages where they could help teach some basic English to kids. They also learned local dances, they tried traditional foods, and they hiked through the beautiful landscapes of the country. That will definitely be an experience they will never forget.

而另一场令人瞩目的旅行则是为十二年级的西班牙语学生量身定制的——他们远赴巴拿马，度过了一周的难忘时光。此次旅行不仅让学生有机会实践语言技能，更使他们深入体验了当地文化。他们参观了宁静的小村庄，向孩子们传授基本的英语知识；学习了当地的舞蹈，品尝了传统美食，还领略了该国美丽的自然风光。这无疑是一次他们将永远铭记在心的经历。

For boarding students who stayed on campus during Spring Break, the school arranged some activities for them, too. They spent a day at a local bowling alley and arcade, and several of them played BINGO with the weekend supervisor, Mr. Davy, who is also a Religion Teacher at the school. 

对于选择留校的寄宿生，学校同样安排了丰富多彩的活动。他们在当地的保龄球馆和游乐场度过了愉快的一天，其中一些学生还与周末负责的主管老师Mr. Davy共同参与了宾果游戏。

With the end of the semester quickly approaching, these activities help to bring optimism and excitement to the entire school!
